What Are Acrylic Standees?
An acrylic standee is a flat printed display cut from rigid acrylic and supported upright by a base or another agreed mounting construction.
This page focuses on slot-in standees: a tab at the bottom of the upright piece fits into a matching slot in the base. The silhouette, printed image, transparent border and base all form part of the design. A standee is different from a sculpted figurine, and a spring-mounted display uses another support system. Send the construction you want so the artwork, base and quotation describe the same product.
Choose an Acrylic Standee Format
Character Acrylic Standees
Display an original character as a custom-cut silhouette. Review facial details, narrow parts and the clear border at the intended size.
Scene and Multi-Piece Standees
Combine several proposed upright pieces with a coordinated base. Confirm each part, its position and the packing breakdown before sampling.
Logo and Brand Display Standees
Create a desk display around a mascot, logo or campaign illustration. Coordinate the base artwork with the upright design.
Details That Shape the Finished Display
Printed Artwork
Colour printing carries the illustration while the selected white ink layout controls the intended opaque areas.
Custom Silhouette
A planned cut line follows your artwork while allowing room for clear edges and the support tab.
Coordinated Base
Match the base shape and artwork with the upright piece as a complete display composition.
Flat-Pack Presentation
Discuss separate-piece packing where appropriate, with protection and clear identification for the upright and base.
Design the Upright and Base Together

A cut silhouette alone does not define a complete acrylic standee. Review the tab, base slot and footprint with the artwork and dimensions. A wide, tall or off-centre design may need a different base arrangement from a compact character. The sample should let you check assembly, fit and the way the display stands on a level surface before approving the proposed construction.
Choose the Print Layout for Each View
Single-Sided Artwork
Confirm the intended front view and what will be visible from the reverse. Specify the white ink and background arrangement.
Same Artwork on Both Sides
Review the orientation, alignment and opacity of the proposed print layers rather than assuming both views are identical automatically.
Different Front and Back Artwork
Send both views together and identify the important details. The silhouettes and print layers need to work with the same physical cut shape.
Prepare the Artwork for Print and Cutting
Send the best artwork available and identify the intended finished size. A vector cut line is useful for the silhouette, while high-quality image files can carry the illustration. Keep critical details away from the proposed cut edge and mark transparent areas explicitly. If your artwork has a white background that should disappear, say so. Review the colour image, white ink layer, cut line and base artwork together on the proof.
How Your Acrylic Standee Is Made
Typical production workflow · The exact sequence and print construction are confirmed for the approved design. The product images above are concepts, not factory photographs.
1. Artwork and Layer Review
Confirm the colour image, white ink, cut outline, support tab and base artwork. This stage sets the visible and transparent areas of the finished display.
2. Print Preparation
Prepare the approved print arrangement for the selected acrylic. Check the intended front and reverse views before the production files are finalised.
3. Colour and White Ink Printing
Apply the agreed print layers. Review colour appearance and opacity against the selected material and approved sample reference.
4. Upright and Base Cutting
Cut the proposed silhouettes and base slots. The cut outline must account for the design, tab and agreed assembly dimensions.
5. Fit and Appearance Checks
Check the upright and base together, along with print placement, visible edges and the agreed appearance. Review any specific acceptance requirement before approval.
6. Protection and Packing
Confirm protective packing, piece counts and design identification. For flat-packed sets, make sure each upright piece is paired with the correct base.
Plan How Customers Receive the Standee
Individual Packs
Discuss protection for the printed acrylic and whether the upright and base are packed separately or assembled.
Backing Cards and Inserts
Coordinate the printed presentation with the piece shapes. Include assembly guidance or design identification where helpful.
Gift Sets and Collections
Combine standees with matching pins, keychains or stationery. Review the full pack contents and arrangement together.

Sampling takes 7 working days and has no minimum quantity. Check print, fit and packing on the sample, then confirm bulk quantities and the full schedule.
Create a Display for Your Audience
Original Character Collections
Bring a character range onto the desk with a consistent acrylic appearance and presentation style. Give each design its own silhouette while planning base proportions and print arrangements across the collection. Share quantities per character and the release plan so artwork, sampling and packing can follow the same design breakdown.
Corporate Gifts and Campaigns
Turn a mascot or campaign illustration into a compact display for a welcome kit, partner gift or event pack. Coordinate the upright piece with a branded base and companion products where needed. Share the audience and intended presentation so the proposal can address the complete set and how it will be handed over.
Retail and Event Merchandise
Create a display collectible around an original theme, venue or event identity. Plan how customers will understand the artwork, assemble the pieces and identify different designs in a series. Confirm the individual packing, any card information and the assembled sample before approving an event or retail launch.
Acrylic Standees: Frequently Asked Questions
What is the MOQ for custom acrylic standees?
Sampling has no minimum order quantity. Bulk minimums are confirmed for each design, material and construction in your quotation. If your project contains several characters or base variations, send the approximate quantity per design so printing, cutting and packing can be reviewed on a clear basis.
What dimensions should I specify for a standee?
Give the intended upright height and width, and say whether height includes the tab or assembled base. The base footprint and material thickness should be confirmed separately. If you are unsure, send a reference and explain where the standee will be displayed so a proposed specification can be reviewed.
Can the front and back use different artwork?
Different front and reverse artwork can be discussed for the proposed print construction. Send both views together and identify the transparent and opaque areas. The print layers must work with the same physical outline, so review alignment, white ink and orientation before approving the proof and sample.
What does the white ink layer do?
White ink provides an opaque background behind selected colour areas in the agreed layout. It influences how colour appears on clear acrylic and which areas remain transparent. Mark the intended effect in your artwork and review the colour image, white layer and clear areas together before approving a sample.
How do I know the upright will fit the base?
The tab and slot should be specified as a matching construction rather than treated as separate stock pieces. Review the complete sample for assembly and fit, and check how the display stands on a level surface. Any particular size or acceptance requirement should be agreed before bulk approval.
Can several pieces share one acrylic base?
A multi-piece layout can be reviewed for your design. Identify each upright piece and show the intended positions on the base. The footprint, slots and visual arrangement need to be planned together. Confirm the complete piece count and packing breakdown in the quote and on the physical sample.
How long does an acrylic standee sample take?
Sampling takes 7 working days. Confirm the start date for the agreed artwork and specification. Artwork changes, approval, sample shipping and bulk production require separate time. For a fixed launch date, share the destination and required arrival date so the complete timeline can be reviewed.
Can I request special effects or branded packaging?
You can propose a material effect, compatible surface finish or packaging style for review. Tell us where the effect should appear and show your preferred presentation. Availability depends on the construction, so confirm the proposed specification in the quotation and check the final appearance and pack fit on a sample.
